Stylish yet casual, Lollapalooza is a modern farm-table restaurant without the rustic cliches of mismatched chairs, reclaimed wood and eclectic kitsch. Instead, the décor uses a neutral palate that centres around the quiet elegance of white Volakas marble, unstained beechwood and polished copper. The ambiance is decidedly sophisticated and urban, with a timeless quality that takes its cue from the Bauhaus as well as contemporary Japanese and Scandinavian design. This aesthetic is reinforced by geometric design elements used throughout the restaurant, and extends to the yukatainspired uniforms, and tableware that includes Duralex glassware, Schott Zwiesel stemware and Opinel steak knives.
The front door opens to a compact bar and waiting area, which leads to a dining room that is divided into two sections. On one side, there is an 8 metre long communal table where different groups of guests sit together, and dine refectory-style. And on the other, a series of small tables and banquette seats offer more privacy. All guests have a full view of an open kitchen that features our woodfired oven. In addition, a glass door at the back offers access to views of Duxton Plain Park and the conservation shophouses of Bt Pasoh Road.
