One of the most prolific chefs in the Singapore culinary scene at only 32, Chef Antonio Oviedo has joined UNA with a star-studded portfolio under his belt, having worked under the tutelage of 2 of the world’s best chefs – the late three Michelin— starred chef Santi Santamaria; and the Roca Brothers who opened El Celler de Can Roca , also a restaurant awarded with three Michelin stars, and named the Best Restaurant in the World by gourmet magazine Restaurant several times).
Antonio was invited to take the reins of the kitchen team as Head Chef for Spanish restaurant Binomio when it opened in 2012, leading it to become one of Singapore’s top Spanish restaurants. Prior to his culinary debut in Singapore, Antonio has also worked in many famous restaurants across Spain, Europe and Asia. Over the years Oviedo has developed a creative, edgy food preparation style with trendy food plating creations.
Always excited and inspired by fresh produce as well as unique ingredients that Antonio finds during his daily menu planning for the restaurant or when he travels – his food philosophy is to bring a classic, authentic cuisine with a modern twist inspired by his childhood memories, travels around the world, and his savoir faire to choose the right seasonal produce for optimized flavours.
Deeply rooted and inspired by his family background, which are from both the North and South of Spain, he emulates that influence into his food preparation, showcasing the plethora of flavours from his home country.
